This summer vacation, I had a truly wonderful time. I decided to do something meaningful and different.
I spent the first two weeks at home reading some interesting books. Reading has always been my favorite hobby. It can not only broaden my horizons but also enrich my mind. I read novels, biographies, and some books about science. Each book opened a new world to me. For example, a novel about the history of a small town made me understand the cultural heritage and the stories behind ordinary people's lives.
Then, I went to the countryside to visit my grandparents. There, I helped them do a lot of farm work. Every morning, I got up early to water the vegetables in the garden. It was really interesting to see those green plants growing healthily with my care. Sometimes, I went to the fields with my grandfather to harvest crops. Although the work was a bit tiring, I felt a great sense of accomplishment when seeing the fruits of our labor.
In the afternoon, I often played with the children in the neighborhood. They were so cute and innocent. We played games like hide-and-seek and flew kites together. What's more, I found that some of them had difficulties in their studies. So I offered to help them with their English and math. I spent about an hour every day teaching them basic knowledge and doing exercises. It was really rewarding to see the progress they made.
During the last week of the vacation, I went on a short trip to a nearby mountain with my family. We climbed the mountain early in the morning. The scenery along the way was breathtaking. When we reached the top of the mountain, we were greeted with a magnificent view. The mountains in the distance were rolling, and the clouds were floating around us. It made me feel the greatness of nature.
